With each new edition, EA Sports seeks to renew and elevate the experience for fans of Career Mode, and with EA FC 26, it’s no different. The franchise bets on significant changes that promise to transform the way players experience their journey as virtual managers. Among the main highlights are the introduction of Live Career Mode, the definitive inclusion of Icons in offline mode, and the long-awaited manager market, a long-standing request from the community. Check out the main updates and what to expect from this new version below.

Live Career Mode: Dynamic Narratives and Personalized Experiences
The main innovation in the Career Mode of EA FC 26 is the new system called Live Career. This is a brand-new interface that provides varied scenarios and personalized plots for players to start their journeys as managers, whether leading an existing club or founding a completely new team.
Before starting a new progression, the player will have the option to choose between two modes: Live Mode, with experiences guided by events and challenges, or the traditional format, called Original Career, already known from previous editions.
At the beginning, the user must create their manager profile, as usual. The difference is that this profile will now be saved and reusable, allowing multiple campaigns to be started without the need to create a new character each time. Additionally, it will be necessary to define five favorite clubs, so that the game can suggest challenges and options based on those teams.
The Live Mode will feature various tabs and categories, including:
Recommended Challenges
Live Starting Points
Create a New Career from Scratch

These tabs will be updated throughout the season, reflecting real-world football events, such as player transfers, decisive classics, manager changes, and critical situations in the league standings. It is essentially a direct evolution of the Live Start Points feature, which debuted in EA Sports FC 25, now with more depth and dynamism.

Icons in Career Mode: Legends United in the Present
Another notable addition in FC 26 is the full integration of Icons into Career Mode. Although they were timidly tested in the previous edition, now the legendary former players become an official part of the mode.
As players progress through the Season Pass and complete certain challenges, they will be able to unlock and use historic icons of world football. Stars like Ronaldo Fenômeno, David Beckham, Gareth Bale, Zinedine Zidane, Ferenc Puskás, and Luís Figo will be available to be fielded alongside current generation athletes. This functionality allows mixing iconic veterans with young talents, creating unique and nostalgic teams.
In addition to male names, female Icons will also be available, such as the renowned forward Alex Morgan, who debuts as a legend in the game. The specific Icons menu will allow the player to choose between managing a real club, creating a new team, or starting a journey with past idols as if they were still active.

Manager Market: Enhanced Realism
One of the most frequent requests from the community has finally become a reality: the manager market has been introduced in the Career Mode of FC 26. Inspired by the real dynamics of football, this new system will bring more unpredictability and depth to the gaming experience.
With this feature, it will be possible to witness the constant swapping of managers between clubs throughout the season. On-field performance, meeting (or not) the proposed objectives, and managing the squad and finances will directly influence the manager's stability.
Managers who accumulate poor results may be sacked;
Managers who excel may receive offers from other teams;
Managers with a long tenure at the same club may opt for new challenges on their own.
This movement, inspired by the real changes that occur behind the scenes in the world's top leagues, adds an unprecedented strategic layer to the mode.
